Joe Renton Founder & CEO Joe Renton is the Founder of IMS. As CEO, Joe works to ensure that the corporation's long term strategies and business objectives remain the guiding principles behind corporate execution. Prior to starting IMS, Joe was a Technical Management Consultant providing both engineering and management expertise to several large corporations. From 1990 to 1996, he led a number of integrated engineering teams that designed and developed complex software engineering systems in a variety of functional domains. From 1984 to 1990, Joe was a member of the Technical Staff at Rockwell International. Joe holds a BS in Computer Science from California State University of Fullerton. |  |
Rod Farley President & COO As COO, Rod Farley is responsible for the daily execution of the corporation's business. He insures that the organization executes as necessary to meet current and future customer commitments. Rod came to IMS in August 2001 from Tenzing Communications Inc., where he held the position of Executive VP of Engineering. Prior to Tenzing, Rod worked for Hughes-Avicom and then Rockwell Collins as Director of Program and Project Management. From 1982 to 1995, Rod held software development and engineering management positions with Hughes Electronics. Rod holds a BS in Computer Science from Central Michigan University. |  |
Steve Hawkins CTO As CTO, Steve Hawkins is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of the products developed at IMS. Steve provides technical guidance to the engineering staff and ensures that IMS development processes are adhered to. He also maintains an active role in the architecture, design, development and testing of products developed at IMS. Steve worked as an independent consultant before joining IMS in January 2001. As an independent consultant from 1993 to 2000, Steve architected, designed and developed software for both large distributed systems and small embedded systems. During this period of time, he developed software in the areas of In-flight Entertainment, Automobile Lane Departure Systems, Air Traffic Control Communications, Helicopter Flight Instruments and Image Processing Systems. From 1982 to 1993, Steve held software development and technical leadership positions with both Honeywell and Hughes Electronics. Hawkins holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. |  |
Tim Graven CFO As CFO of finance and administration for IMS, Tim oversees the day-to-day financial management, budgeting, risk management and financial matters of IMS. Tim has had vast professional experience driving efficiency and productivity by evaluating financial management systems and implementing process improvements. His expertise in directing financial management teams has not only contributed to the growth of the organizations for which he had worked but has contributed to their long-term financial goals. As a testament of his success, Tim managed to grow Sunrise Growers, Inc. / Frozen Foods, Inc. from a start-up company to one of the largest processors of strawberry products in the world. A Certified Public Accountant (inactive) with the State of California, Tim has worked with McGladrey & Pullen, one of the largest international CPA firms as well as Unocal’s international auditing and accounting department. Tim received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from California State University, Fullerton and is a member of the AICPA. |  |
Jim Snover Executive Vice President & General Manager, Engineering Services As Executive Vice President and General Manager of Engineering Services, Jim is responsible for the strategy, growth and overall operations of the Engineering Services group within The IMS Company. Jim has 24 years of experience in managing small and large complex programs for both commercial and military/government customers. Previously, Jim was employed by The Boeing Company as the Director of the Radio Products and User Programs, on the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) – Ground Mobile Radios (GMR) program, which is a $2B radio and networking development program for the U.S. Army and other military services. Prior to Boeing, Jim was employed by Rockwell Collins as the Director of Program Management for Asia Pacific region for Rockwell Collins Passenger Systems in the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) group. Jim brings a wealth of experience to IMS in both the IFE areas and military programs and has a proven track record for successful program execution. Jim holds a BS in Electronic Engineering from Ohio Institute of Technology. |  |
Harry Gray Vice President, Sales and Marketing Harry leads the company's international sales efforts, marketing strategy, brand management, and strategic alliances for both the Entertainment and Engineering services divisions of The IMS Company. Harry has more than 22 years of experience in senior sales and marketing positions within the aerospace industry. Most recently, he was with Rockwell Collins managing Product Marketing supporting both commercial air transport and business aviation markets. Previous positions within Rockwell also included the role of Director Worldwide Sales, responsible for all sales revenue and business development. Harry began his in-flight entertainment career in 1991, and has worked for Airshow, Inc. and Matsushita in various sales and marketing management positions. |  |
Tad Lindquist Vice President, Portable Entertainment As Vice President of Portable Entertainment for IMS, Tad provides the management and direction required to make certain the Entertainment organization is meeting customer commitments and IMS fiscal goals. He works with engineering, studios, and post production facilities around the world to provide leading edge, cost effective, entertainment solutions to the transportation industry.
Tad is one of the original strategic team members of IMS and has contributed significantly to the company’s long term growth and success. He held the position of Software Engineer and Program Manager from 1997 to 2001, Vice President of Engineering Services from 2002 to 2008, and took over Portable Entertainment in 2009. Prior to that, Tad served on the technical staff at Sprint PCS, Comarco Wireless Technologies, and ASCO Sintering where he provided a broad range of technical engineering solutions to large scale systems. Tad holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. |  |
